Saving Family Memories

Posted by admin on 23 July, 2008

Is there not a question about how the family photo albums and family have evolved with the technology for about 7 years? I remember (and in fact I still do despite having a digital camera) taking pictures with a normal camera, go to film developing shop and order photo prints. Then, you have to return at least one hour later to collect them, bring them home, put them into albums and store the negatives also. Wow, is not it quite a long process compared to what we do now with our digital cameras.

My film camera now sits in one of the drawers in my closet.

Before, if you want to send personalized Christmas cards, you have to go to the printer and have designed a card. Now, you can have holiday photo cards in a Jiffy! All you need is a digital photo, your color printer and photo paper. You can edit your photos; choose your design and your photo canvas from your computer.

At the same time, even with the convenience, I believe that the frequency of people who actually printing them and putting them into photo albums has declined. Most images are stored on computers or storage devices such as CD, memory and even online. With my camera, I put in photo albums immediately so as not to waste the effort to go to the store shooting. Our camera phones and computers have become the new picture frames.

We sincerely wish that we could stick to the good habit of organizing family photographs. Especially for me, now that my kids are still small, I want to keep our photo albums to date.
